Terms & Conditions
The following Terms and Conditions apply to anyone engaging with Dr. Caroline Taylor Psychological Services.
Therapy Agreement
Our agreement together is to support you in being in a safe environment, and your information being secure. There are a number of practicalities that we need to agree on. Please read the agreement carefully, as your signature (or a reply email stating that you agree) will constitute a binding agreement between us.
Confidentiality
During your time in therapy, you may disclose sensitive and personal information that is private and confidential. I am bound by my codes of conduct, ethics and standards of my professional and regulatory bodies. This includes a responsibility to manage your information confidentially in line with GDPR as a data controller registered with the Information Commissioners Office.
There are some situations where I will be duty bound to break confidentiality:
- Where you give consent for confidentiality to be broken and information to be shared.
- Where I am called to by a court of law.
- Where there is compelling information, sufficient that confidentiality cannot be maintained due to concerns that you or someone you know is at risk of harm. I will discuss this with you should the need arise.
Supervision
I am required by my professional bodies to attend supervision. Clinical supervision is a time where I can discuss aspects of my work that will make our work together more effective. Individual identities are not disclosed. Additionally, supervision is confidential between myself and my supervisor/s.
Note-Taking & Record-Keeping
I am required to keep notes as a record of our sessions. Clinical notes support the effectiveness of therapy and are limited to what is necessary and sufficient. Notes are held securely under GDPR requirements. Should I die or become incapacitated, you will be contacted by My Clinical Will and they will only access your data for the purposes of informing you about my death or incapacity.
Therapy Sessions & Cancellations
- Sessions are generally 50 minutes long. Ideally, we will meet weekly (at least initially) to allow the therapeutic alliance to develop and a treatment plan to be made together.
- If you need to cancel a session, please let me know as soon as possible – preferably at least 48 hours in advance – to ensure that you are not charged for the session.
- If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice you will be liable for 50% of the agreed fee.
- If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice you will be liable for 100% of the agreed fee.
Fees
- Fees are dependent on your salary and I have 4 different salary-based pay rates.
- I also offer discounted treatment packages.
- For payments, I will ask you to sign up to GoCardless; and I will request your fees via this service.
